The area of Terchová provides many opportunities for white water rafting either down the river Váh or Orava. The rafting route leads between Lipovec and Strečno past the Old and New Strečno castle and the famous rocks called Margita and Besná. The stretch is 14 km long and takes about 1.5 hours. Small inflatable dinghies are used for rafting. It is more suited for physically fit people. It is not suitable for small children.
There are two rafting routes available on the river Orava. The first goes from Žaškov to Kraľovany it is 9 km long and takes about 1.5 hours and then there is the second one from Dolný Kubín to Kraľovany, which is 18 km long and takes approx. 2.5 hours. Small inflatable dinghies are used for rafting. This route is suitable for adults as well as children.
