If you like running, the event “A run to Poludnovy Grun” is the one to take part in. The runners want to reach the peak on the ridge of Krivanska Mala Fatra called Poludnovy Grun (1460 m .a.s.l.). All runners then meet up at the cottage Chata na Gruni where the results are announced.

Aiming to lift the spirit of farming, a group of enthusiasts organizes a farm horse show which takes place under the statue of Juraj Janosik. The part of the exhibition is a presentation of carnival masks and traditions. If they feel like it visitors may also participate in a strongman competitions.

The contest of cooking and eating bryzdzove halusky sees the highest concentration of bryndza (sharp soft sheep cheese), cooks and fanciers of the traditional local cuisine Teams as well as individuals compete in several disciplines such as cooking, speed eating, drinking of zincica (sheep milk whey) or eating of cheese strings. It is necessary to come with an empty stomach.

Cyril and Methodius´ days is a celebration in honor of our missionaries to whom the church in Terchová is dedicated. The most important church dignitaries are present at the event which reflects the legacy of the Thessalonian brothers. Cyril and Methodius´ days is a celebration divided into several days, and they offer a rich as well as cultural program. The spiritual quality of the event is accompanied by various concerts, exhibitions and other activities.

Every year Terchová becomes a center of all highwaymen, who can try their strengths in cooking to decide whose goulash or grilled specialties are best. Adults but also children can partake in a competition of eating bryndzove halusky or match their strenghts in skills and agility. The event is accompanied by an attaractive cultural program - highwaymen’s ball, crafts, meeting with Janosik, throwing valaška (light sheephers´axe). Also kids do well aou of the special program such as: treasure hunt, highwaymen´s yard with sheep, hens and other animals.

Since the beginning of the 1960s Terchová has hosted a folklore festival named Janosik’s Days, which has featured international performances since 1992. A monumental amphitheater Nad Bôrami welcomes thousands of folk art lovers who come to celebrate “the Terchová public holiday” with the locals. The incredible music program promises unforgettable experiences and sparkling atmosphere. the musical performances feature a presentation of local and foreign folklore, but also other genres of music and traditional crafts. An indispensable part of of the holiday, horse carriage parade, has been organized since 1968. It takes place on the last day of the festival. Laviskly decorated horses and carriages as well as their owners all with the traditional clothes on, fiddlers playing and singers singing, this truly is a unique spectacle which made Terchova famous at home and abroad. It not less significant that typical traditional music from Terchova was in 2013 included as an element of the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
